Coupled Up at Cannon Beach

Trent and I flew into Seattle, landing on Sunday morning at 8:30AM and after picking up the rental car we immediately started our drive to the Oregon Coast. We stayed in the cutest coastal town, Astoria, while we spent our days exploring the jaw-droppingly stunning beaches of this area. Our session with Christy and Joe was already that evening so we immediately made our way to Cannon Beach!

Being Minnesota-natives we sure know what “rollercoaster weather” is but lemme tell yah, Oregon’s got it too! Every 10 minutes it went from sprinkling rain to full sunshine to a total downpour and then back to sunny skies! We were a little nervous about what mother nature would have in store for us at this session but no matter what, we were stoked for our first PNW photos! We opted for an earlier start time as the clouds rolled in and didn’t seem to be leaving. And Christy and Joe were so flexible in making their 2 hour drive to our location to start earlier! And it’s a good thing they did because the last few photos of the session feature a rain that didn’t end up stopping.

These two were so fun to photograph, frolicking on a wide open beach and up in grassy sand dunes. Let’s just say these photos are quintessentially PNW. And we can’t wait to get back to this area to photograph more love stories! Check out some actual film photos at the end too!
